Heather Barrett

Heather Barrett has extensive experience in radio broadcasting, working at CBC since March 1994 in various roles. Currently serving as the Host and Producer of the province-wide CBC Radio One morning show, Weekend AM, Heather also engages in creating radio documentaries and multimedia projects. Previous positions include Producer for current affairs programs such as The Sunday Edition and The Current, and Senior Producer for multiple local morning shows across Newfoundland, including St. John’s Morning Show and Labrador Morning. Additionally, Heather has contributed as an Online Writer, Associate Producer for a national classical music program, and as a Writer Broadcaster for local shows. Early in the career, Heather worked as a Videographer for the CBC Television series Road Movies. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Music from Memorial University and a Master of Arts in Journalism from Western University.
