Jane Armstrong is an experienced digital producer and copy editor at CBC since July 2015, with prior roles as a consultant at Aga Khan Foundation Canada and a freelance journalist. Armstrong co-authored a design and implementation strategy for an international reporting grant at Aga Khan Foundation Canada and served as a juror for a fellowship in 2017. As a freelance journalist, Armstrong received the 2011 Michener-Deacon fellowship for a long-form investigative project on Canada's aid impact in Afghanistan. Previous experience includes serving as a national correspondent for The Globe and Mail, covering significant events in Russia and reporting on topics from Atlantic Canada. Early career includes reporting for the Toronto Star in various capacities, including as city hall bureau chief. Educational background includes a Master's degree in Entrepreneurial Journalism, as well as degrees from Trent University and Carleton University in history and journalism, respectively.
