Jorge Barrera

Journalist

Jorge Barrera is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in investigative reporting, currently serving at CBC since October 2017. Prior to this, Jorge worked at APTN from March 2010 to October 2017, where notable achievements included breaking the Bruce Carson scandal and obtaining confidential US State Department cables through WikiLeaks. Jorge's career includes significant roles at Canwest News Service, Sun Media, Moncton Times & Transcript, and Northern News Services, gaining a reputation for covering major events such as the Haiti earthquake. Jorge holds an Hon. BA in Religious Studies from Mount Allison University and has additional education from the University of Victoria.
