Stephanie Coombs

Stephanie Coombs serves as the Director of Journalism and Programming at CBC in Edmonton since June 2018, overseeing a team of over 80 professionals while setting strategic directions for diverse media platforms. Prior to this role, Stephanie was the Director of Communications and Marketing at the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation, where marketing strategies were developed to enhance the city's image and business climate. Stephanie also held the position of Managing Editor at the Edmonton Journal from 2011 to 2016, achieving multiple national awards and overseeing significant newsroom transformations. Previous experience includes editorial roles at the Times Colonist, Ottawa Citizen, and Victoria News. Stephanie holds a Master’s degree in Journalism and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and English from Carleton University.
