Stephen Humphrey

Radio Programmer

Stephen Humphrey is an experienced professional specializing in writing, transcription, and media production. Currently serving in script support and transcription at New York Public Radio since August 2023, Stephen is also a science writer at McGill-Queen's University Press since March 2019, focusing on 'Peak Pollen,' a nonfiction book about pollination ecology. Additional roles include programming for CBC Radio One since June 2011, where significant documentary works include "Dancing In the Dark" and "Once Upon A Planet." As a writer and multimedia creator for Resonating Bodies, Stephen explores native solitary bees through various media. With a long history of freelancing in journalism and photography, Stephen has contributed communications writing for Ontario government ministries and held directorial responsibilities for the Art Bar Poetry Series, Canada's longest-running poetry reading series. Stephen's educational background includes a diploma in Journalism from Centennial College, authorization as a court transcriptionist from Durham College, and a BA in English from the University of Alberta.
