Preetam Samnarain

Preetam Samnarain has extensive experience in laboratory operations and management. Preetam started their career as a Senior Research Technician at Weill Cornell Medicine in 1989, where they were responsible for routine histotechnology, immunoperoxidase, and electron microscopy. Preetam then worked as a Senior Medical Technologist at Westchester Medical Center before joining NYU Langone Health as a Neuropathology Technical Specialist. At NYU Langone Health, they were involved in laboratory relocation, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and training staff. Preetam also worked as a Pathology Laboratory Supervisor at St. Barnabas Hospital, where they oversaw daily laboratory operations and provided laboratory management and planning.

Preetam then joined the Hospital for Special Surgery as a Pathology Laboratory Consultant, where they participated in research projects and supported the testing and approval of new products. Preetam later became the Laboratory Manager at Therapath Neuropathology, where they coordinated and oversaw daily laboratory operations, participated in research projects, and supported the testing of innovative projects.

Currently, Preetam is the Laboratory Operations Manager at CBLPath, where they are responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily IHC laboratory operations. Preetam ensures staff compliance with training and certifications and maintains open communication on quality expectations, regulatory compliance, and reliable results.

Preetam Samnarain has a diverse education history in the field of biology and life sciences. In 1983, they obtained a Clinical Laboratory Diploma from Mandl School, The College of Allied Health. After that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Life Sciences from the New York Institute of Technology, which they completed in 1987. Preetam further advanced their knowledge by obtaining a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biology from the University of Hartford, which they completed in 1990.

In addition to their formal education, Preetam Samnarain also holds several certifications. Preetam has obtained certifications such as C14- Supervising chemical laboratory from the New York City Fire Department, a College of American Pathology Inspector certification from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), and a New York State Medical Technology certification from the New York State Department of Health.
