Principal Software Engineer at Cboe

Chris Winter has a strong background in software engineering, with a focus on embedded Linux systems and trading system development. Chris worked as a Software Engineer and Team Leader at Garmin from January 2007 to May 2012, where they made significant contributions to the company's first Linux-based PND. Chris then went on to work as a Principal Software Engineer at Cboe Global Markets starting in May 2012. In this role, they developed business-critical trading systems in a highly regulated financial environment using high-performance, low-latency, high-reliability C++ on Linux. Chris also designed and implemented a market data feed latency monitoring and alerting tool for regulatory compliance purposes.

Chris Winter obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Astrophysics from Queen's University Belfast from 2002 to 2007. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science also at Queen's University Belfast from 1998 to 2002. Additionally, they hold certifications such as the Series 63 and Series 7 from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, obtained in 2013 and 2012 respectively.
