Sylvain Martin has over 25 years of experience in system engineering and administration. Sylvain started their career at TotalNet as a Unix Systems Administrator from April 1993 to February 1995. Sylvain then worked at Internet Quebec IQ inc / Frantel inc. as a Unix System Administrator from February 1995 to December 1997. From July 1997 to October 1998, they served as a System Engineering Consultant at Metro Information Services. In 1998, Sylvain joined Reed Elsevier as a Sr System Engineer, where they focused on Unix system administration, asset tracking, and automation of tasks. Sylvain remained with the company until February 2009. From March 2009 to January 2011, Sylvain worked as a Systems Engineer at Take 2 Interactive. Later in 2011, they joined Cintas as a Systems Engineer - Level 2 - Open Systems, where they worked until October 2011. Currently, Sylvain holds the position of Sr System Engineer at CBTS since October 2011.

Sylvain Martin attended Université de Moncton from 1991 to 1994, where they studied Civil Engineering and Computer Science. Sylvain did not obtain a degree during this time. In terms of additional certifications, Sylvain obtained numerous certifications in various fields. In 2010, they became a VMware Certified Professional VCP4. In 2009, they received certifications in System Administration for the Solaris 10 OS SA-200 and SA-202. In 2008, they obtained an ITIL V3 Foundation Certification. Sylvain also holds certifications such as Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, eTrust Access Control ET100, Red Hat Enterprise Deployment, Virtualization, and Systems Management RH401, Solaris System Performance Management SA-400, Sun Enterprise 10000 Administration ES-400, Solaris Fault/Crash Dump Analysis ST-370, Solaris Security SC-300, Veritas Foundation Suite, and Adtran ISDN CPE, ISU, T1, CSU/DSU, TSU certification. The institutions where they obtained these certifications are not provided.
