Mat Schuster is the Chef Owner of Canela Bistro & Wine Bar, a position held since 2011. They have also been a podcast host for "Food, Wine & the Culinary Mind" since 2019, where they engage in interviews with fellow chefs. Previously, Mat managed food and beverage operations at The Bay Club Company and Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, and served as Cooking School Manager and Marketing Manager at Whole Foods Market. Mat is a current member of the Board of Directors for the Golden Gate Restaurant Association, where they have also held the position of Past President. They studied at Emory University, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration, and continue their education at the California Culinary Academy.
