Megan Ames currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at VanderCook College of Music and has extensive experience as a Band Director for CCSD 46 since June 2007, where a successful band program was established and expanded from 9 to nearly 200 students. As a District Fine Arts Coordinator for Music and a self-employed accompanist since February 1999, Megan Ames has contributed to various musical performances, including instrumental and vocal solos, choirs, and musical theatre. Additional roles include adjudication for woodwinds, brass, piano, and vocal ensembles, as well as positions as Assistant Marching Band Director and Assistant Jazz Choir Director & Accompanist at Grayslake Community High School District 127 from August 2007 to May 2022. Educational credentials include a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from American College of Education and a Bachelor of Music Education from VanderCook College of Music.

Community Consolidated School District 46 (CCSD 46) is located in northeastern Illinois in central Lake County, approximately forty (40) miles north of Chicago and fourteen (14) miles west of Lake Michigan. CCSD 46 proudly serves parts of the villages of Grayslake, Third Lake, Hainesville, Round Lake, Round Lake Park, Round Lake Beach, and Lake Villa. The district is comprised of seven schools. Four kindergarten through fourth-grade neighborhood schools, one kindergarten through eighth-grade neighborhood school, a fifth and sixth-grade intermediate school, and a seventh and eighth-grade middle school. The CCSD 46 District Office houses the office of the Superintendent, Business Office, Human Resources, Teaching & Learning, Technology, and Operations & Maintenance.
