Shawn A Thomas, PhD, MPH, is an accomplished injury epidemiologist and data scientist with over 10 years of experience across various sectors, including federal and state health organizations. With expertise in substance use, mental health, and maternal and child health, Shawn has contributed significantly to public health through research projects, over 250 reports, and multiple peer-reviewed publications. Currently, Shawn serves as a Senior Epidemiologist at the CDC Foundation, after previously holding positions such as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the CDC and Teaching Faculty at the University of Nevada, Reno. Shawn holds a PhD in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies, an MPH in Epidemiology, and a Bachelor's degree in Public Health, all from the University of Nevada, Reno.
