Tom Chapel

Senior Evaluation Fellow

Tom Chapel has extensive experience in research and evaluation, currently serving as a Guest Researcher at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since 2001, focusing on the Data Modernization Initiative and the Division of Food, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases. Additionally, Tom has held the position of Chief Evaluation Officer at the CDC Foundation since May 2020, contributing to evaluation capacity building and strategic planning. Prior roles include Vice President at Macro International from 1988 to 2001 and Senior Manager at Ernst and Whinney/Amherst Associates from 1985 to 1988. Tom holds an MBA in Marketing/Market Research from the UMN Carlson School of Management and a Master's in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota-Humphrey Institute, along with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from The Johns Hopkins University.
