Aaron Bernstein serves as the Director of the National Center for Environmental Health and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since May 2023. Additionally, Aaron has been a Hospitalist in the Division of General Pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital since August 2008. Aaron previously held the role of Chair for the Council on Environmental Health at the American Academy of Pediatrics from August 2022 to May 2023. Aaron's experience includes leadership positions such as Interim Director and Co-Director at Harvard C-CHANGE, as well as Assistant Faculty Lead for the Climate and Health Initiative at the Harvard Global Health Institute. Aaron was also a Board Member for the U.S. Green Building Council from 2016 to December 2022. Educational qualifications include an MPH from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, an AB from Stanford University, and an MD from the University of Chicago.
