Aaron Rumack

Data Scientist

Aaron Rumack is a data scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since May 2024, focusing on forecasting hospitalizations related to influenza, COVID-19, and RSV. Prior experience includes serving as a postdoctoral researcher and Ph.D. student at the Machine Learning Department at Carnegie Mellon University from August 2017 to August 2023, where modeling spatiotemporal dynamics of seasonal influenza was a key research focus. Previous positions include an REU participant at UConn Health and an undergraduate researcher at Cornell University, where pipeline creation for classifying amino acids in protein-protein interactions occurred. Aaron Rumack earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Cornell University in 2017.
