Chris Greene is a Research Microbiologist at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since April 2001, contributing as a member of the Newborn Screening Molecular Quality Improvement Program within the Newborn Screening and Molecular Biology Branch. Additionally, Chris serves as the lead for the Newborn Screening Molecular Assessment Program, collaborating with the CDC, APHL, and Public Health Laboratory professionals to enhance molecular screening activities in State Public Newborn Screening Laboratories. Prior to this role, Chris was an ORISE Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Emory University from August 1999 to April 2001 and held the position of Post-Doctoral Fellow there. Chris holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Emory University, earned between 1993 and 1999, and a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from The University of Alabama, completed in 1993.
