Daniel Thompson

Daniel Thompson is a Health Communications Specialist currently contracted at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), specifically within the Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics since October 2023. Prior to this role, Daniel served as a Communication and Partnership Specialist at the CDC Foundation from September 2021 to October 2023. Daniel has held various leadership positions, including Executive Director at both the Georgia OB/GYN Society and the Pediatric Healthcare Improvement Coalition of Georgia, as well as at the North Georgia Heart Foundation. Additional experience includes working as Deputy Director for Chronic Disease Planning and Partnerships at the Georgia Department of Public Health and Government Affairs Coordinator at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Daniel's foundational experiences began with a Government Affairs Fellowship at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and academic training, culminating in a Master of Public Health in Policy from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Emory University.
