David Lowe is a seasoned microbiologist with over 15 years of experience in microbiology and molecular biology, primarily focusing on public health laboratories for the past six years. Currently, they work at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where they develop and distribute diagnostic assays for respiratory viruses. Previously, David led the Quality and Compliance Team for the Poxvirus and Rabies Branch at the CDC, ensuring high-quality laboratory testing and implementing risk management programs. They earned a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Virginia and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, specializing in host-pathogen interactions.
