Dexter Thompson

Dexter "Alex" Thompson, MCS, is a seasoned microbiologist with extensive experience in various laboratory and research settings. Currently serving as a microbiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since July 2024, previous roles include microbiologist II at SIS - Strategic Innovative Solutions, where responsibilities involved supporting clinical and non-clinical specimen testing, assay design, and data analysis. Prior positions encompassed medical technologist in molecular pathology at Q² Solutions, research technical specialist and lead research specialist at Emory University, and microbiologist at the Centers for Disease Control, among others. Dexter "Alex" Thompson holds a master's degree in microbiology from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, a bachelor's degree in chemistry from The University of Southern Mississippi, and an associate degree in chemistry from Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
