Emily Learner

Lead, Epidemiology Research Team, Division of STD Prevention

Emily Learner, PhD MPH, is currently the Lead of the Epidemiology Research Team in the Division of STD Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a position held since 2022. Previously, they served as an Epidemiologist at the CDC from 2019 to 2022, and held various roles in research and laboratory management, including as an Epidemiology Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Study Coordinator with the Rwanda Zambia HIV Research Group. Emily has also been involved in clinical trials and laboratory operations at Social & Scientific Systems and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. They earned their education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between 2013 and 2017.
