Hammad Ali is a public health physician and leader with two decades of experience in epidemiology and global health. Currently, they serve as the Associate Chief for Science at the US CDC and hold adjunct associate professor positions at both Brown University and The University of Queensland. Prior roles include serving as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer and unit lead at the CDC, as well as a public health consultant in various capacities. Hammad has also contributed to academia as an under-graduate facilitator, lecturer, and research officer at multiple institutions. They earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology from UNSW and an MBBS from King Edward Medical College.
