Heather Johnson

Principal User Experience Consultant (contract)

Heather Johnson is an experienced user experience consultant with a strong background in digital strategy and design. Currently serving as a Principal User Experience Consultant at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since June 2012, Heather has led user experience initiatives for significant projects including the Covid-19 and Zika websites, focusing on strategy, research, and design. Previous roles include Director of Online Strategy and User Experience at AirTran Airways, where Heather was responsible for enhancing online customer experiences, and Manager of Online Strategy at the same company, overseeing various digital properties. Additional experience includes positions at Intellimedia Commerce, MCI Corporation, and Duke University Press, enhancing project management and user engagement across diverse industries. Heather holds a B.A. in Art History from Duke University.
