Heather McLaughlin is a microbiologist with significant experience in the field, currently serving at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since April 2014. Prior to this position, McLaughlin worked as a Post Doctoral Researcher at the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre at University College Cork from August 2012 to August 2013 and at the BIOMERIT Research Centre at University College Cork from March 2011 to July 2012. McLaughlin holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbiology from University College Cork, obtained from 2006 to 2010, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Microbiology from The University of Texas at Austin, completed between 2000 and 2005.
