Joanne Johnson

Joanne Johnson is a dedicated health communications professional with extensive experience in developing communication strategies and content within various organizations. Currently serving as a Health Communications Specialist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Joanne focuses on crafting internal communications, including strategic plans and reports, while successfully increasing site traffic through a revamped Sharepoint site. Previous roles include Advocacy Fellow at the Fund for Global Health, where successful lobbying efforts led to a significant funding allocation for global health priorities. Joanne has also worked as an Administrative Assistant at the University of North Carolina Center for Middle East and Islamic Studies, a Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, and an Electronic Health Record Coordinator at Washburn Center for Children. With a Master of Public Health in Global Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor's degree from Macalester College, Joanne combines strong communication skills with a solid academic foundation in health-related fields.
