John Halter

John Halter is the Director of the Office of Policy, Budget and Legislation at the National Center for Health Statistics. They have served as the Associate Director for Policy at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since 2022 and previously held various roles, including Acting Legislative Director at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration in 2018 and Chief of Regulatory Implementation at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. John began their career as a Mediator at the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office and has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, as well as a Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law.
