Katherine McHugh

Katherine McHugh is currently a Public Health Advisor at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where they focus on infection prevention and field assignments related to public health emergencies. They have previously served as a Senior Preparedness Field Assignee, evaluating local health department preparedness plans and managing inventory during the COVID-19 response. Katherine held internships at both the FDA and the California Department of Public Health, where they gained experience in laboratory operations and arbovirus surveillance. They hold a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Anthropology, as well as in Biology from Washington and Lee University, and are pursuing a Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
