Matthew S.

Matthew S. is a biologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where they lead the newly established Gonorrhea Team focused on monitoring antimicrobial resistance in Neisseria gonorrhoeae. With over eight years of experience at the CDC, Matthew contributed significantly to the development of computational algorithms for drug resistance prediction and collaborated with public health labs for surveillance efforts. Prior to their work at the CDC, Matthew held various research positions, including a role as an adjunct faculty member at St. Edward's University, and conducted studies at institutions like Rice University and Florida State University. Matthew earned a Ph.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and holds a BS with Honors from Florida State University.
