Melissa Simon

Community Preventive Services Task Force at CDC

Melissa Simon currently serves as a member of the Community Preventive Services Task Force at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and has held multiple leadership roles, including Founder and Director of the Center for Health Equity Transformation at Northwestern University and the Chicago Cancer Health Equity Fellows Program. As a Vice Chair for Clinical Research and Professor at Northwestern University, and Co-Program Leader for the Cancer Control and Survivorship Program at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, Melissa Simon focuses on cancer health equity through collaborative research and community engagement. Additional contributions include membership in the National Academy of Medicine's Roundtable for the Promotion of Health Equity and previous service on the United States Preventive Services Task Force. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush Medical College and a Master's Degree in Epidemiology from the University of Illinois Chicago, complemented by a Bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago.
