Michael Whitaker

Michael Whitaker is a Senior Data Scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since February 2019, where expertise in data management has led to significant improvements, including the migration of a legacy SAS-based ETL pipeline to a cloud-first architecture, resulting in substantial time savings and recognition. Prior to this, experience as an Epidemiologist/Data Analyst at the Georgia Department of Public Health involved developing SAS macros for data integration and enhancing reporting processes for timely decision-making. Earlier career experience includes an internship as an Epidemiologist/Data Analyst, generating reports and supporting research initiatives. Michael holds a Master of Public Health with a focus on Epidemiology and Biostatistics from The University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Alabama.
