Mona Byrkit, MPH, currently serves as Branch Chief for the Jurisdictional Readiness and Response Branch at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, while also leading the Health Department Section within the COVID-19 Task Force. Prior to this, Mona spent over a decade at PATH, holding roles including Managing Director of Global Engagement and Regional Program Director for the Mekong region, where responsibilities included overseeing public health projects and managing significant teams. Mona’s earlier experience includes leadership positions at CARE and IntraHealth International, focusing on sexual and reproductive health and primary health service provision, respectively. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Pomona College and a Master of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health from the University of California, Berkeley.
