Robert (Bobby) McDonald is a seasoned Global Activities Lead and Medical Officer in the Division of STD Prevention, with a strong background in public health and medicine. Originally a television producer, they transitioned to a career as an Internal Medicine and Pediatrics physician, dedicated to improving health in underserved populations. Bobby has worked extensively on STI prevention and control, leading initiatives on congenital syphilis and antimicrobial resistance on a global scale, and currently provides medical care with a focus on HIV and substance use in an outpatient setting. Their expertise is bolstered by a Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College and a Master of Public Health from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
