Rory Welsh

Rory Welsh is a collaborative and innovative public health scientist currently serving as a Molecular Epidemiology Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). With a Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology from Oregon State University, they previously held various roles, including Microbiologist at the CDC and Research Technician positions at institutions like the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute and Florida International University. Throughout their career, Rory has focused on molecular epidemiology, advanced diagnostics, and pathogen surveillance, contributing to the development of several pathogen surveillance systems. Their research experience also includes working as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Georgia and a Research Associate at the Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science.
