Seth Kroop

Seth Kroop is a seasoned public health professional with extensive experience in management, operations, communications, and policy development at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) since June 2012. Currently serving as the Deputy Director for Management, Operations, Communications, and Policy at the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID), Seth oversees more than 1,570 federal employees and a budget exceeding $1.7 billion for FY 2024. Previous roles at CDC include Associate Director for Policy in the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion and Lead Special Assistant to the CDC Director, showcasing a strong ability to engage with Congressional stakeholders and manage high-level communications. Seth also holds experience from organizations such as CARE USA and the Refugee Resettlement and Immigration Services of Atlanta and has completed the Emerging Leaders in Biosecurity Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security. Educational qualifications include an MPA in Nonprofit Management from Georgia State University and a BA in International Studies from Middlebury College.
