Travis Hoppe is currently the Associate Director for Data Science and Analytics at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and previously held the role of Chief Data Scientist (NCHS) at the same organization. They served as the Assistant Director of AI Research and Development at The White House from 2024 to 2025. Travis has a strong academic background, having earned a Ph.D. in Physics from Drexel University and completed postdoctoral fellowships in theoretical biophysics at the National Institutes of Health. In addition to their scientific endeavors, Travis has experience as a Research Assistant at the University of Nevada Reno and has worked as a Teaching Assistant during their studies at Drexel University.
