William Weldon is an experienced immunologist with a solid background in vaccine research and development. Weldon served at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from December 2011 to July 2014, where responsibilities included evaluating the immunogenicity of inactivated poliovirus vaccines and developing a dried blood spot serology assay. Prior to this, Weldon worked as an ORISE Fellow, screening monoclonal antibodies for broad-neutralizing activity against rabies viruses. Additional roles included Associate Director for Laboratory Science and Acting Team Lead in the Division of Viral Diseases. Prior experience at Emory University involved post-doctoral research on influenza microneedle patch immunizations, exploring cellular mechanisms and the efficacy of adjuvants. Weldon holds a B.S. in Applied Biology from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis from Emory University School of Medicine.
