Tenbite Ermias

MD, Africa at CDC Group

Tenbite Ermias is MD and Head of Africa at CDC. Tenbite joined CDC in 2018 and is based in Nairobi, Kenya. He leads CDC’s Africa Coverage team which is responsible for business development and market coverage activities across the continent from our Johannesburg, Nairobi, Lagos and Cairo offices.

Previously, Tenbite worked for McKinsey & Company where he was a Partner in Nairobi and Johannesburg. Prior to that he was Partner and Managing Director at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from 2000 until 2014. Tenbite has worked throughout Africa, the Middle East and the US, and has held multiple global leadership roles. He has extensive experience working with public sector organisations on economic development topics, and with private sector companies in consumer goods, agriculture, industrial goods and energy.

Tenbite is from Ethiopia and has multiple engineering degrees from Stanford University.
