James Shapiro is the Co-Founder and COO of Varro, where they focus on developing affordable pathogen detection systems for various sectors. With a diverse background, they served as Interim CEO of Y2X Life Sciences from 2020 to 2024 and held the position of Resident Director for North America at TATA Sons Limited from 2014 to 2018. Shapiro’s extensive experience includes leadership roles at the NYSE, where they managed international corporate relationships and strategic research initiatives. They earned a M.A. and M.
