Catherine Murphy, EIT, currently serves as an Environmental Engineer 2 at CDM Smith since January 2025. Previously, Catherine worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Tennessee Technological University from September 2020 to December 2023, focusing on industrial wastewater reclamation through a hybrid forward osmosis-reverse osmosis system. Catherine also gained experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of New Hampshire in 2019, studying cell growth rates of anaerobic bacteria in produced water from hydraulic fracturing systems. In 2023, Catherine completed an NSF internship at Proton Power, Inc., collaborating on master's research at Tennessee Technological University. Catherine holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering from the University of New Hampshire.
