Fitz Rawls

Fitz Rawls, E.I.T. is a Geotechnical Engineer at CDM Smith since January 2023, following a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech College of Engineering, where contributions included teaching assistance in Risk Analysis for Geotechnical Engineering and conducting research on deep foundations and bioremediated soils. Previous experience includes internships at Stantec, where Fitz engaged in analyses related to seepage and stability, pile resistance calculations, and pre-design reports, as well as at Universal Engineering Sciences, assisting with geotechnical exploration on the Howard Frankland Bridge Project. Fitz holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Integrated with Geology from Washington and Lee University, complemented by an International Baccalaureate Diploma from Hillsborough High School.
