John Allen is a seasoned Bridge Engineer and Project Manager with extensive experience in structural engineering. They served as the TN Structural Group Manager at Volkert, Inc. from 2019 to 2025 and hold the position of Senior Project Manager at CDM Smith since 2025. Their previous roles include Senior Bridge Engineer and Associate at Gresham Smith and Partners, as well as President of their own firm, John Q. Allen, PE, PC, from 2003 to 2009. Allen has a BS in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structures from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and is pursuing a degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Florida.
