Laurel Schaich is an experienced Environmental Engineer currently serving as a project technical leader and process engineer at CDM Smith since July 2015, specializing in waste-to-energy projects and biogas handling and utilization studies. Laurel's expertise includes economic feasibility, conversion of biogas to pipeline-quality natural gas, and bioenergy modeling, as well as advanced wastewater treatment processes, particularly in biosolids processing. Prior experience includes a role as an Environmental Engineer at WLA Consulting, Inc., and serving as the Music Director at Lutheran Center UNL. Laurel holds a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from The University of Kansas and two Bachelor's degrees in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Music from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
