Rita Smith

Rita Smith, AIA, CCS, is a seasoned professional in architecture and construction project management with extensive experience in specifications writing and facility renovations. Currently serving as the Manager of Specifications Writing at CDM Smith since January 2018, Rita has played a key role in modernizing construction specifications to adhere to the 50-Division CSI Standard, particularly within water and wastewater treatment, civil engineering, and transportation sectors. Previous roles include Construction Project Manager at the Franciscan Renewal Center, where Rita oversaw facility renovations, and Associate at The Jones Payne Group, leading significant research projects and directing design teams for church and school renovations. Rita's early career involved consulting on historic renovations and serving as Project Representative for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston. Rita holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Boston Architectural College and a Certificate in Liturgical Design Consulting from Catholic Theological Union.
