Troy Thielen

Troy Thielen is a GIS and Management Specialist at CDM Smith since February 2022, bringing extensive experience in managing Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning (Risk MAP) projects. Previously, Troy worked as a Project Manager and GIS Specialist at Stantec from November 2018 to February 2022, where responsibilities included managing Flood Insurance Rate Map studies and supporting FEMA Region V. Prior roles at CDM Smith involved similar project management responsibilities from August 2005 to November 2018, with a focus on community resilience and coordination with FEMA. Earlier professional experience includes serving as a Hazard Mapping Analyst at Dewberry from August 2000 to August 2005, focusing on floodplain delineation and quality control for flood maps. Troy holds a Master's degree in Information Systems from DePaul University and a Bachelor's degree in Geography from Central Michigan University.
