With extensive experience in educational technology and digital learning, Mertes has held significant roles such as Board member and Treasurer for the State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA) and Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, where leadership in various digital initiatives was provided.
