Philippe Vernier

Philippe Vernier is a distinguished scientist with extensive experience in neuroscience. Since October 2019, Philippe Vernier has served as a scientific advisor and director of the institute at CEA. Prior to this role, Philippe Vernier held the position of principal researcher at CNRS - Centre national de la recherche scientifique from January 2000 to March 2025. Philippe Vernier was also the director of the Paris-Saclay Institute of Neuroscience from 2015 to October 2019. Academic qualifications include a Habilitation à diriger les recherches in neuroscience from Pierre and Marie Curie University in 1997, a DEA in neuroscience from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 in 1987, and a degree in medicine with a focus on neurology from Faculté de Médecine Grenoble, completed during an internship from 1974 to 1986. Additionally, Philippe Vernier pursued medical studies at Université Grenoble Alpes from 1974 to 1982.
