Stephane Sarrade

Director Of Energy Programs

Stephane Sarrade has been the Director of Energy Programs at CEA since March 1995, overseeing strategic management and programming of Low Carbon Energies R&D including innovation in nuclear fields. Sarrade's experience encompasses various roles such as Deputy Director of Innovation and Nuclear Support, Head of R&D Department, and Head of Laboratory, specializing in sustainable chemistry and supercritical fluid research. As of March 2023, Sarrade serves as Chair of the Generation IV International Forum and has held vice-chair positions focused on industrial deployment of advanced nuclear technologies. Additional roles include President of Innovation Fluides Supercritiques, a faculty member at MINES ParisTech, and influential positions in various professional societies related to supercritical fluids and nuclear engineering. Sarrade holds degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Montpellier and an engineering degree in Food Science & Biotechnologies from Polytech Montpellier.
