Elisa Alvim holds a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, focusing on sanitary engineering, and has completed a postgraduate program in Occupational Safety Engineering, both from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. They graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Water Resources from the same institution. Elisa has held various engineering positions in private companies, including Concremat Engenharia, Gás Natural Fenosa, and Arte Engenharia e Construção, before joining the Companhia Estadual de Água e Esgoto do Rio de Janeiro (CEDAE) in 2010.
