Melissa Nance has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of social services. Melissa began their career in 2007 as an ICCU Care Coordinator at Region 6 Behavioral Healthcare. Melissa then joined Nebraska Families Collaborative in 2009, where they initially served as a Family Permanency Supervisor and later became the Family Permanency Director. In these roles, Melissa was responsible for overseeing teams that served at-risk families and children in out-of-home care, with a focus on staff and program development. Melissa also played a role in influencing system change for youth and families through internal and external relationships.
In 2018, Melissa moved to PromiseShip, where they held the position of Interim Vice President of Programs before being promoted to Vice President of Programs. Melissa'sresponsibilities at PromiseShip included overseeing various teams that provided services such as case management, kinship, family engagement, adoption, family finding, independent living, and prevention. Melissa also ensured compliance with contractual requirements regarding state and federal child welfare measures.

Melissa Nance attended Creighton University from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology. Following their undergraduate studies, from 2006 to 2008, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Human Services, General at Bellevue University.
