Peter Westerheide has extensive experience in economic analysis and research within the chemical industry. Currently serving as Chief Economist and Vice President at BASF since September 2011, Westerheide also holds significant roles as Chairman of the Economic Outlook Taskforce at Cefic and Vorsitz Ausschuss Wirtschafts- und Marktanalysen at Verband der Chemischen Industrie e.V. Additionally, Westerheide has contributed to ZEW - Leibniz-Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung in various capacities since 1994. Academic qualifications include a Diplom-Ökonom from Universität Witten/Herdecke and a Dr. rer. pol. from the University of Münster.
