Sami Nikander

Sami Nikander is an experienced leader in the chemical industry, currently serving as a Board Member of SFS Suominen Standardit since January 2024. Sami has held various prominent positions at Cefic since September 2013, including Chairperson of the Responsible Care Issue Team, and is involved in multiple Programme Councils focused on health, safety, environment, and sustainability. Sami's role as Director of Responsibility at Kemianteollisuus ry since August 2017 involves leading advocacy strategies concerning climate, energy, and the circular economy. In addition to contributions to the European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers' Association and the Rubber Manufacturers’ Association of Finland, Sami has a proven track record in standardization, having previously chaired the Finnish Standardisation Board and participated in international committees. Sami holds an M.Sc in Environmental Engineering and a B.Sc in Biotechnology.
