John Henrik Andersen began their work experience in 1997 as a Team Lead/Senior Consultant at Netcenter, where they were responsible for budgeting, personnel management, project management, and advisory work. From 1999 to 2000, they worked as a Development Manager at Getronics in Microsoft R&D. In 2000, they became Head of Department for Microsoft Consulting at Avenir. John Henrik then worked as a Business Manager at Ementor from 2003 to 2006 and as a Manager for Microsoft Relations and Sales from 2002 to 2003.

In 2006, Andersen joined Microsoft, where they held several roles over the years. John Henrik served as an ISV Manager from 2006 to 2008, Director of Windows Client (Business Group Lead) from 2008 to 2011, Director of Server & Tools (Business Group Lead) from 2011 to 2013, Director of Marketing and Operations (M&O Lead/COO) from 2013 to 2015, and Director of Developer Experience and Evangelism (DX Lead/CTO) from 2015 to 2017. Lastly, they worked as Director of Business Development from 2017 to 2023 at Microsoft.

In 2023, Andersen became the Chief Technology Officer at Cegal.

John Henrik Andersen attended various educational institutions throughout their career. John Henrik started their education at Christianslund VGS from 1989 to 1992. Later, they pursued studies at Østfold University College (HiØ) from 1994 to 1997. In 2000 to 2001, they attended BI Norwegian Business School. Additionally, John Henrik Andersen obtained several certifications from Microsoft, including Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer + Internet (MCSE + Internet): Windows NT 4.0, and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE): Windows NT 4.0. John Henrik also achieved the titles of Microsoft Global Challenger and Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals.
